The Mizuno MP 69 Irons are targeted at Tour Players and low handicap amateurs. The MP-69 is a muscleback set, evolved from the Mizuno MP-68. The MP-69s feature a slightly more pronounced toe design that has not been seen in a Mizuno set since the MP-32s.The Mizuno MP-69 is a pure muscle-back with the same profile and offset as the MP-68. A new 4D muscle pad in the back of the club is more pronounced and locates weight strategically from 3-iron to pitching wedge.
The MP 69 Irons set are designed with precision craftsmanship to maintain the standards MP players have come to expect. Mizuno incorporates a newly developed 4D Muscle design to further optimize the set, resulting in a consistent sweet spot height throughout the line that creates predictable penetrating trajectory. This 4D Technology combined with Grain Flow Forging gives players shot and ball control, and ultimate feel. Utilizing Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T.), Mizuno scientifically tunes the sound of each club head to further enhance the feel.
The Mizuno MP 59 Irons features a lightweight Titanium insert forged directly into the back of the club head. In fact, the heads of the MP-59 irons are slightly smaller than last season's MP-58, the first irons released with this feature that Mizuno calls Ti Muscle. Yet Mizuno claims the clubs have a sweet spot that is 5 percent larger.
While the MP 59 is made from steel, 12 grams of titanium are forged into a pocket behind the face of each club. (It's the slightly darker material in the photo above.) Mizuno says the titanium allows the clubs to maintain the ideal amount of thickness behind the impact area for solid feel while automatically redistributing the weight to the heel, toe and sole of the club.
