Callaway has a winner with the Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver however, despite their investment in technology, the clubs overall performance has not significantly improved from previous models (at least in my books). I will admit that this driver did great things for ball spin especially for off-center hits.

The Callaway RAZR Hawk is made with Forged Composite, a super-lightweight material Callaway developed in conjunction with Lamborghini. To create it, millions of ultra-thin carbon fibers are heated and pressed between two halves of a metal tool. The fibers melt in the heat and pressure of the tool and ooze into the exact shape Callaway desires. The final product is very strong, and very light.

In the case of the Callaway Diablo Octane Tour Driver , the crown of the club is created using this process. You can actually see the material in windows on the crown itself. The weight saved using Forged Composite instead of titanium allowed designers to move more weight lower and farther from the face, which helps to lower the club's center of gravity and make it easier to get ball up in the air. You can actually see the Forged Composite in the head.

The Diablo Octane Tour Driver is fueled by Forged Composite, which is the lightest, strongest material ever used in golf clubs. The new Diablo Octane Driver features that Forged Composite in the crown, giving it a significant performance advantage over all-titanium drivers. These drivers are configured to deliver unmatched power through superior design, construction and materials.

While the new 460cc Callaway Diablo Octane driver shares some features with its predecessor, the Diablo Edge driverlike a chemically-milled hyperbolic cup face and titanium sole platethe biggest difference between the clubs is the use of a new material Callaway calls Forged Composite.
