Share Experience for TaylorMade R11S Driver

TaylorMade did the smartest thing possible by not trying to reinvent the wheel. With the R11 being one of the the most successful drivers in the history of golf they decided to do the best thing possible, make it better. Im a firm believer in the motto if its not broken dont fix it and TM did just that. They took the R11 and improved upon it by making minor tweaks to increase both distance and accuracy. Good news for us average joes, they suceeded as the taylormade r11s is a homerun and yes its better then the R11.

When it comes to looks, TaylorMade has it down. The shape of the crown along with the white matte finish looks great behind the ball. Something else that often gets overlooked are the graphics on the crown. They actually frame the ball nicely giving you confidence when facing that narrow par 4. I also want to point out the improvements to the sole of the club. The matte black looks great and really stands out when compared to the previous version. Now the sole of a driver doesnt matter much on the course but when its sitting on the rack it definately stands out. TM is king in this department.

Well, decided to follow up a little bit on the taylormade r11s driver. After hitting it again, I realized that I like it more and more. The shape of the head, IMO, is better than the R11 from last year. Being that it has a deeper face, it also spins less than last years model. The 5 way ASP (Adjustable Sole Plate) still seems like a bit of a marketing ploy than an actual technology, because if you elevate the club before takeaway, the club will be square anyways.

According to TaylorMade, the cheapest r11s is bigger, more adjustable ,faster and longer than its predecessor. It retains the matte-white crown finish and black face, but bumps the size of the head up to 460cc (from 440cc) and adds a new, pentagonal Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP), different moveable weights and a new, 1.5-degree adjustable Flight Control Technology (FCT) hosel sleeve system. Its three-dimensional adjustability lets golfers alter the loft, face angle and trajectory independently. In short, the company says this driver is the most tunable club its ever created.

But, for many golfers, the r11s driver uk is appealing because of its adjustability. For example, the FCT system has eight user-selectable positions to increase or decrease the drivers loft by up to1.5 degrees. By using the ASP, you can choose one of five face angle settings (two more than the original TaylorMade R11 driver) to open or close the face within a 6-degree range (1.5-degrees or 3-degrees open, neutral, 1.5-degrees or 3-degrees closed). Doing so wont affect the loft of the club. And, the drivers Movable Weight Technology (MWT) lets you shift the center of gravity toward the heel or toe to promote the side-to-side ball flight you prefer (draw or neutral). Altogether, the company says the cheap r11s driver has 80 different user-adjustable settings, which is a whopping 32 more settings than the original TaylorMade R11 driver.

Several golf equipment companies make adjustable drivers, but none of them have gone to quite the lengths of TaylorMade especially in the new TaylorMade R11S driver.
